Book me for your event
Are you looking for a pianist for your event? I am happy to serve. I provide traditional music for wedding ceremonies, funerals, Christmas parties, and more. I am happy to work with you in music selection, or leave it to me to pick what's suitable for your occasion.
Check out this list of FAQ's for more information:
What style of music do you play?
It varies depending on the event. For wedding ceremonies, I usually play traditional sacred, classical, and easy-listening love songs. For funerals, I play sacred and traditional music that is respectful, yet not dismal. For Christmas parties - Christmas music, of course! You get the idea. I can accommodate certain requests for specific songs and pieces if they're given prior to the event with enough time to prepare.
Does my venue have to have a piano? Does it have to be tuned?
Yes, and yes. However, it doesn't need to be tuned specifically for your event. It should be tuned within six months of your event and have been reasonably maintained since then.
Do you play with other musicians?
Sure! I've worked with many talented musicians and am happy to meet more. Let me know and we will rehearse together in advance.
What are your rates?
My rate is $75 a half hour at your event and wedding rehearsals. I don't charge for travel time within a reasonable distance from Indiana, PA (about a half an hour). I also don't charge for my own preparation time or consultation (whether on the phone or in person) discussing selection of music.
How do you accept payment?
You can pay by check made out to Shanda Tomer, or in person with cash.
How do I book? Do you require a deposit? What is your cancellation policy?
If you are interested in booking, please get in touch through my "Contact Me" page. I'll reach out to talk through details, then send over a brief contract outlining our agreement. You are officially booked once you've signed the contract and I've received a non-refundable 50% deposit. The remaining half is due the day of the event. If cancellation is needed, the remaining 50% would not be payable.
